Use Claude with your library

Once Claude is connected, you can work with your Lazy Reader library in plain words. You do not need to know the names of the tools. Say what you want and mention Lazy Reader, and Claude picks the right one.

If you have not connected Claude yet, start with Connect Claude.

Below are the things Claude can do, each with prompts you can copy. Change the words to fit what you need.

Find and read what you saved

Claude can list your saves newest first, search them, and open one to read its full summary and saved text.

What did I save in Lazy Reader this week?

Search my Lazy Reader for "pricing" and give me the three most useful summaries.

Open the Lazy Reader item about cold showers and tell me the main points.

Good to know:

  • The search matches words in the title and the summary. It is not a search by meaning, so use words you expect to find there.
  • A list gives 20 items unless you ask for more, up to 50 at a time. Ask Claude to go further back for older ones.
  • Archived items, artifacts and books are kept apart. Say "archived", "artifacts" or "books" when that is what you want.

Ask across your saves

Claude can read several summaries and pull them together, which the app itself does not do.

Read my Lazy Reader saves about habit tracking and tell me where they agree and where they disagree.

From my saves this month, make a short list of the tools people keep recommending.

Save https://example.com/long-read to my Lazy Reader.

The link lands in your Feed with a Claude label. If Claude sends its own summary with it, the item is ready at once and no model call is made. If not, Lazy Reader writes the summary with your OpenRouter key, as with any save.

For many links at once:

Here are 30 links from my notes. Import them into Lazy Reader.

Claude can send up to 50 links in one go, and up to 500 new items a day. Links you already have are left alone. Each new link gets a summary on your key, so a big import costs more. Check Settings, Usage afterwards.

Keep tools, prompts and repos in Resources

Save this prompt to my Lazy Reader resources as a Prompt: "…"

Add https://github.com/example/repo to my Lazy Reader resources.

  • If you or Claude name the type, the resource goes straight into your list as To try.
  • If no type is named, Claude's pick waits in Review for you to approve. See File resources and review them.

Claude can also tidy what you have:

Mark the Lazy Reader resource "Example tool" as Using.

List my Lazy Reader resources that are still To try.

Add a resource type called Course in Lazy Reader.

Re-sort my Lazy Reader Bookmarks and put them back in Review.

Rewrite the What it does text of my Tool resources.

Re-sorting and rewriting handle up to 10 resources per call, so a big type takes a few calls. Re-sorted resources wait in Review, so you check every new pick before it counts.

Deliver documents to Artifacts

Claude can put a finished document in your Artifacts tab: a report, a briefing, a summary of a chat. It shows there as unread, with a count on the tab.

Write a one-page summary of this conversation and save it to my Lazy Reader artifacts.

Make this a designed page and save it to Lazy Reader as HTML.

Save today's news briefing to Lazy Reader in the series "Daily AI news".

  • A document with a series name joins that series. The series card opens the latest issue, and older ones are listed under Past issues. Without a series, it is a one-off.
  • A designed page made by Claude shows exactly as made.
  • Claude can save up to 50 artifacts a day.
  • If Deliveries is on in Settings, Notifications, you get an alert when one arrives.

Books

List my Lazy Reader books.

Open my Lazy Reader guide for the book on negotiation and tell me which chapters to read in full.

Claude reads the guide and the chapter list. On request it can also read the book's text, up to the first 100,000 characters.

Delete things

Delete the Lazy Reader item about the conference that was cancelled.

Delete my Lazy Reader series "Old weekly digest".

Claude can delete up to 20 items in one call, or every issue of one series. This works the same as the Delete button in the app: it cannot be undone. The delete tools are marked as destructive, so Claude normally asks you to approve before it deletes. Lazy Reader cannot force that question, so only ask for a delete you mean.

Tips for good results

  • Name Lazy Reader in your request, so Claude knows where to look.
  • Be specific: a title, a word from the summary, or a date range finds the right item faster.
  • Ask Claude to show what it found before it changes anything.

INFO

Claude works on the same library you see in the app. Anything it saves, files or deletes shows in Lazy Reader right away. Claude never sees your API keys.
