Artifacts
An artifact is a finished document that Claude makes for you and sends to Lazy Reader: a morning news digest, a summary of the week's saves, a report or a designed page. Artifacts go to their own tab, Artifacts, not to the feed. No summary is written for them: what Claude sends is what you read.
The tab is empty until you connect Claude. Then it says what it is for: "Documents Claude saves to Lazy Reader through the connector show up here."
One-off and Recurring
The Artifacts tab has two sections.
| Section | What it holds | How it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Recurring | Documents Claude sends on a schedule you set up in Claude, filed under a series name, such as "Daily AI news". | One card per series, with the date of the latest issue and how many issues there are. |
| One-off | Single documents Claude made for you once. | One row per document, with its date. |
In the Lazy Reader look, each card or row also carries a small chip: Series or One-off.
An artifact you have not opened yet has a dot and a bold title. The Artifacts tab shows how many are unread.
Reading an artifact
Open a card or row to read it. On a wide screen it opens on the right of the list; on a phone it fills the screen, with a back link to Artifacts.
At the top you see the title, the date and "from Claude". If the document has an original, a link next to it says Open in Claude (for a page made in Claude) or Open original.
Claude can send two kinds of document:
- Plain documents in Markdown, shown as normal text, like a summary.
- Designed pages with their own layout, colors or diagrams. Lazy Reader shows these exactly as Claude made them, in a closed-off frame on the page.
An issue of a series shows the series name above it and, under the document, Past issues: the issues of the series, newest first. Click one to read it.
Clearing artifacts
At the bottom of each artifact are two buttons:
- Archive moves it to the Archive page, under the Artifacts chip. Unarchive brings it back.
- Delete removes it for good after you confirm: "Delete this document? This cannot be undone."
For a series there is also Delete series, at the top. After you confirm, it deletes all the issues listed for that series at once.
How artifacts get here
You ask Claude, in a chat or a scheduled task, to save a document to Lazy Reader. Claude uses the connector's tool for artifacts. A few limits apply: up to 50 artifacts a day, and a title of up to 300 characters.
If you turn on Deliveries under Settings, Notifications, Lazy Reader tells you when an artifact arrives.
See Use Claude with your library for example requests and Claude tools for the full list of what Claude can do.
