Ways to save
There are six ways to get a link into Lazy Reader. They all end the same way: the link lands in your feed and gets a summary about a minute later.
| Way to save | Where you use it | What you need | Chip on the item |
|---|---|---|---|
| Save a link box | In the app, phone or computer | Nothing | Lazy Reader |
| Share sheet | Safari or any app on your iPhone | The iPhone app | iPhone |
| Chrome clipper | Chrome on your computer | The clipper | Clipper, or the site's name |
| Newsletter inbox | Your email | Your private address | Newsletter |
| Clipper sync | Substack, Instagram, Medium, YouTube | The clipper | The site's name |
| Claude | A chat with Claude | The connector | Claude |
Save a link box
The simplest way. Press Save a link at the top of the sidebar on a computer, or the round + next to the "Lazy Reader" title on a phone. Paste the address and press Save. On a computer you can also paste a link anywhere on the feed: the box opens with it filled in. See Save a link in the app.
Share sheet on your iPhone
In Safari, YouTube or any app, tap Share, then Lazy Reader. Safari also sends the page's text, which helps with pages that only show their text in a browser. You can share an EPUB or PDF too: it opens Add a book. This needs the iPhone app, which is in testing through TestFlight. See Install the iPhone app.
Chrome clipper
A Chrome add-on that saves the page you are on. It reads the page inside your own Chrome, where you are signed in, so paywalled articles arrive with their full text. With Finish waiting articles on, it also finishes saves from elsewhere that hit a paywall. See Install the Chrome clipper.
Newsletter inbox
You get a private email address under Settings, Capture, Newsletter inbox. Forward a newsletter to it, or let Gmail forward it for you, and it is saved like any link. See Forward newsletters.
Clipper sync
The clipper can bring in what you saved on Substack, Instagram, Medium and YouTube, using your own logins in Chrome. Each one is off until you turn it on, and each is marked Experimental: those sites have no official way to do this, so a sync can stop working without notice. Instagram also needs a SociaVault key. See Bring in saves from Substack, Medium, YouTube and Instagram.
Claude
Once you connect Claude, you can ask it to save a link for you. Claude can also send you documents, which go to Artifacts instead of the feed.
What every way has in common
- Saving the same link twice does not make a second item. The Save a link box then says "Already in your list."
- A save without an OpenRouter key is still kept. It waits as Needs a key and gets its summary once you add the key.
